Coaches
If a Swedish student athlete in any sport wants to go to the US to study, they will most likely contact Bluechip Sports & Education for help. We are the leading Swedish academic advisor for student athletes.
Started in 1991 CIS Sport (changed to Bluechip Sports & Education in 2004), has helped over 600 Swedish student athletes go abroad to study in the US. Today we help approximately 50-75 students a year. The only one of its kind of service in Sweden, we realize that there is a real need to help students through the recruiting process. We help students in all different sports with all aspects of the recruiting process. The extensive contacts and knowledge we have built up over the years help young students get recruited. With our experience we can relate to both students, coaches and admissions in regards to their needs.
Our staff have all participated in college athletics and graduated from college in the US and have gone through the recruiting process. We understand from experience what it means and what it is like to go through the recruiting process and application.
In our network of coaches previous collaborations have all been successful due to the fact that the staff at Bluechip are all well informed and have personal experiences from the american sports system. The coaches are often eager to communicate with us when they want players to their team. But most of all the coaches know that when they recieve a student athlete from Bluechip, he/ she always comes well prepared and is supported throughout the entire stay. Bluechip have helped student athletes to more than 100 different instituitions at all levels over the years.
To help the student athlete we use our proven ”Bluechip PASS”-model to evaluate the students according to Personality, Academic interest, Sports level and Scholarship opportunities. This is in order to find out if the student has what it takes to succeed in the US and make the transition to college as smooth as possible, this also ensures that there will be no surprises to the student, regarding coaches and institutions. We want the student to be as much prepared as possible.
Bluechip's emphasis is always on the academic interest and success of the student. We will evaluate and discuss with the student their academic interest and opportunities in regards to their academic situation.
We only work with a few select athletes each year and are therefor able to personally guide them through the entire process. This includes close contact with the coaches, parents and the admission office.
What Bluechip does for the student athlete:
- Detailed and extensive evaluation to make sure the perfect match is made in regards to personal, academic, athletic and scholarship situation and opportunities.
- Personal and individual service. We only work with a limited number of student athletes each year.
- Personal contact with the coaches in our network. No mass emails go out.
- We personally contact the coaches to discuss the coaches needs and each student athlete opportunities.
- Help with the whole application process (Clearinghouse, SAT, TOEFL, school application, letter of intent etc)
- Honest and independent evaluation of the students athletic and academic ability.
- We work closely with the student and his/ her family to make sure they understand all the aspects of the process.
- We work closely with the admission office at the different institutions.
What Bluechip does for the coaches:
- We work only with a limited number of student athletes which means that the coaches we work with know that the student will be good solid students both academically and athletically.
- We will give an honest and unbiased opinion of the students ability to succeed both academically and as an athlete.
- We will watch the student athlete and if necessary record a video/dvd for the coach.
- Help and facilitate coaches' visits to watch the student athlete.
- Help with contacting a students athlete references.
